Our Standards
Editorial Policy
This policy explains who is responsible for our stories and what happens before and after publication.
Editorial Responsibility
The Short Tale Hub Editorial Desk selects story ideas, operates the publishing process, reviews drafts, and makes the final publication decision. The byline identifies the responsible editorial desk and does not imply that every sentence was written without automated assistance.
Selection
We select fictional premises intended to work as complete stories rather than unfinished excerpts or pages created only to target a search phrase. We focus on relationships, family, personal change, loss, courage, and second chances.
Drafting and Review
Generative AI may expand an editor-selected premise into a working draft. Before publication, the editor reads the draft and may revise its structure, continuity, wording, tone, formatting, title, and ending. The depth of editing differs by story; our current process should not be interpreted as traditional line editing by a professional literary staff.
Originality and Quality Checks
We do not intentionally publish copied stories. We review for obvious repetition, inconsistent characters, incomplete passages, misleading presentation, and material that appears unsuitable for the site. Automated tools can assist these checks, but the editor remains responsible for the publication decision.
Fiction and Transparency
Stories are labeled as fiction. Names, characters, places, dialogue, and events may be invented or dramatized. Cover art may be AI-assisted and is presented as illustration, not documentary evidence.
Updates and Corrections
We may revise a published story to correct errors, improve clarity, or address a credible originality or copyright concern. Material may be removed when correction is not sufficient. To report a concern, email contact@shorttalehub.com and include the relevant URL and a specific explanation.
Commercial Independence
Advertising does not determine the plot, conclusion, or editorial treatment of a story. Advertising and affiliate relationships, if introduced, will be visually distinguished from story content.
